Mr. and Mrs. Hord and their children are all buried in Lexington, Missouri cemetary. The dates above are from their headstones. Mr. Hord took part in the battle of Lexington and was present at the Confederate reunion in 1911. From Vital Historical Records of Jackson County Missouri - Salem Baptist Church (Independence, MO) records: Adah Hord joined on 28 July 1870 and Frank Hord joined 31 Jul 1870. Mr. Hord worked as a construction contractor in Ray County MO. He and his brother, George Hord, laid the streets of brick in Lexington, MO and helped in the levee project for the Missouri River valley in the Ray County area. He also helped in the construction of many bridges and railroads in the area. Mrs. Hord sometimes changed the order of her first and middle names so it is uncertain which was really which. Her parents were William Stone and Mary Barnes. |
Mr. Hord was the great great grandson of Thornton through Francis Hord and Mrs. Hord was the great great great granddaughter of Thornton through Samuel Hord. |
Mr. Hord's second marriage was to LIVING Lawson of Kansas. Mrs. Hord's second marriage was to LIVING Beeler of Slator, Missouri. |

Mr. Hord and Miss Carlson were married in Norwich, Connecticut by Rev. Kurt Carlson. After their marriage, they reenacted the ceremony in the home of Miss Carlson's parents in Westerly, Rhode Island They have resided in Norwich, Connecticut; Westerly, Rhode Island; New Lebanon, New York; Brick, New Jersey; Richmond, Missouri. They have the following children:
